Brierfield revealed as home to first Evermore

We are incredibly excited to announce the location of the first Evermore community at Northlight, home to the historic Brierfield Mill in Brierfield, Lancashire.

As someone who was born and bred in the North-West, I’m immensely proud that our first location for Evermore is ‘up north’. Briefield Mill is a heritage listed building and it will be transformed into a vibrant living, business and retail space as part of a stunning regeneration project.

It’s the perfect spot to begin building our vision of a community that offers a home and a sanctuary to older people who might be living alone. A home where they know there will be always someone to come home to share a meal or a chat.

This is the first step in our plan to overhaul the living options available for older people. Current choices are limited and people are reliant on institutions that dehumanise and disable. In our view, these institutions need to be abolished and replaced with communities that promote true independence, choice, and control but, most importantly, happiness.

Construction at Northlight will commence in autumn this year with sales starting in summer 2015. Our goal is to build 20 Evermore communities by 2020, so will be seeking additional locations in Cheshire and Yorkshire and welcome all leads.
