SERVICE LAUNCHED TO TACKLE LONELINESS IN SALE, ALTRINCHAM AND HALE

A new companionship and concierge service has been launched in Sale, Altrincham and Hale to tackle the isolation, malnutrition, and hopelessness experienced by many older people.

Evermore@Home was created by Cheshire entrepreneur Sara McKee to provide older people with company in later life, such as going to the theatre, cooking together to providing support after a stay in hospital. The service can also free older people from households chores that are starting to become too much.

“Older people want to continue enjoying happy and meaningful lives,“ said Sara McKee, Founder of Evermore@Home. “This means still being able to meet up with friends and doing what they love but sometimes getting out of the house becomes harder when you get older. This could be due to health problems or because of caring responsibilities for loved ones. We’re here to help and provide company at the same time.”

The key difference with the Evermore@Home service is the staff called Mulinellos. Mulinellos are multi-skilled workers who are comprehensively trained and receive ongoing coaching, plus are paid above the living wage with a guaranteed 40-hour week.

“Our Mulinellos are just like our customers. They are local with families and similar lifestyles, with a desire to help people enjoy their lifestyle, their way,” explained Sara.IMG_5043

The first Mulinello to be appointed to cover the Sale and Altrincham area is Hale Barnes local, Paula Davies. Paula joins Evermore@Home after working in retail and hospitality.

Paula says, “I’m excited about joining the Evermore@Home tribe. We want people to bounce out of bed in the morning, looking forward to the day ahead. There isn’t a better job than making someone happy.”

Evermore@Home will initially be available in Knutsford, Sale, Altrincham and Hale before expanding to the rest of the North West. It is part of the Evermore family whose purpose is to co-create places where older people always have love and companionship, a safety net when they need, and the ability to lead meaningful lives in the heart of their community.
