Jeremy Hunt is right to highlight chronic loneliness among older people but the focus must shift to providing solutions.

Nearly 2.5 million over 75s live alone, through loss of a loved one or separation. Families don’t always live near-by and often their circle of friends has disbanded.

We believe the key is giving older people a housing option that is warm and welcoming, doesn’t resemble an institution and provides an environment where there will always be someone to talk to. An option they can look forward to instead of avoid.

We are building this at Evermore so we can actively tackle the growing isolation of older people in this country.
