Sunday 6 October is Silver Sunday and we are celebrating by turning our Twitter profile silver!

There are a lot of great causes but this one means a lot to us at Evermore.

Silver Sunday not only recognises the contribution of older people to the community but provides an opportunity for older people to connect.

With more than nearly 800,000 over 65s saying they often feel lonely it is important that initiatives like these are supported.  They ensure the issue remains on the news and policy agenda and action is taken.

So, that’s why we’re going silver for Silver Sunday. We don’t yet have a physical location where we can host a Silver Sunday event but we do have a presence on social media that we’re happy to donate to help spread awareness of the day.

You can join in Silver Sunday festivities by checking out the events here.  If you can’t find an event in your area, it’s not late to start up one of your own.

Alternatively, you can show your support by donating your Twitter profile for the day too. It’s really easy to do, simply download the logo from the Silver Sunday website and upload to your Twitter profile.  Here’s guidance from Twitter on how to edit your profile.

For everyone taking part in a Silver Sunday event, we hope you have an amazing time, meet new friends, or learn new things. To the organisers, well done for highlighting such an important issue. Next year we hope to be able to host an event of our own!
